I've never really given that much credence. I mean, every now and again, for a brief second, when I pop in an "Atomic Fireball" candy, I hear "OHDEARGODNO!!!"

But after hearing it a few dozen times, I just assumed that it was part of the Atomic Fireball experience.

I have to say, I totally understand the concept of the language barrier. People who have grown up with a native language for so many years have the darndest time picking up another language. I mean, look at me. I can barely speak Spanish, despite the many years of school. But because I have gotten minimal practice, I can only say a few basic lines, just enough to prevent myself from starving just in case I wind up in either Spain or Latin America.

Thanks to technology, we have Internet-based translators that can barely decipher the 30+ major languages in the world. This is because slang, colloquialisms, and other forms of language perversions totally mess up the text-book translators. Often, you wind up with developing countries full of eager people wishing to join the Internet community, trying to impress the US community by writing in English.

Just to get things straight - I COMMEND THESE PEOPLE. I have the greatest respect for these Internet denizens for trying something new, despite the ridicule they might receive from the rather unforgiving American netizens who believe English should be the dominant language on an international medium.

But, I have to draw the lines somewhere. There are some people for whom, no language translator can help. Maybe not even a book on grammar in their own native language.

Here's what I came across a while ago.

I'm sorry, but I know enough of Portuguese to know that whoever wrote this has more than just a translation problem.

Yes, thank you all (especially you ladies) for inquiring about the post that Anya "completed" for me while I was (apparently) passed out on the keyboard. It still makes me red in the face to read it.

I  don't recall the EXACT conversation that lead to this, but it was Anya's position that I should repost the post, and "be a man about it." I argued that such a post doesn't do any favors for behind- the- scenes- world- leaders. It was at that point that Anya took a sharp turn away from the savage supernatural hunter she usually is.

"Oh please, you men aren't really in control. We just let you go on and play your little games so that you aren't so grumpy all the time."

I looked at her, sitting in my computer chair, as she was sitting in the bean bag chair. "Excuse me, but I think I would know if I am being manipulated. I got to where I am by being the one who set the trends, the one who took the lead. I think I would know if there was a mass conspiracy to keep men deluded into thinking they were on top. In any case, I'm not reposting that."

Anya got up, letting her clothing fall to the floor. She slowly walked over, deliberately swaying her hips with every step. She got down on her knees, put her hands on my knees, and put her head in my lap, her long nose breathing hot air on my pants. She looked up at me, with wide, adorable puppy eyes.

The strain of resisting her almost too-cute eyes caused me to grin widely, as I tried not to give in. "Nice try, girl."

Her right hand shot between my legs and grabbed me. The combination of the threat plus the now-creepy puppy eyes made me do two things: repost the post, and vow reciprocation.
