I have to say, I totally understand the concept of the language barrier. People who have grown up with a native language for so many years have the darndest time picking up another language. I mean, look at me. I can barely speak Spanish, despite the many years of school. But because I have gotten minimal practice, I can only say a few basic lines, just enough to prevent myself from starving just in case I wind up in either Spain or Latin America.

Thanks to technology, we have Internet-based translators that can barely decipher the 30+ major languages in the world. This is because slang, colloquialisms, and other forms of language perversions totally mess up the text-book translators. Often, you wind up with developing countries full of eager people wishing to join the Internet community, trying to impress the US community by writing in English.

Just to get things straight - I COMMEND THESE PEOPLE. I have the greatest respect for these Internet denizens for trying something new, despite the ridicule they might receive from the rather unforgiving American netizens who believe English should be the dominant language on an international medium.

But, I have to draw the lines somewhere. There are some people for whom, no language translator can help. Maybe not even a book on grammar in their own native language.

Here's what I came across a while ago.

I'm sorry, but I know enough of Portuguese to know that whoever wrote this has more than just a translation problem.
